The fruit slipped and fell right into milk. Then it slipped again and fell into the mouth. This Tamil proverb expresses the jolt of making a mistake, but finding yourself in a situation far better than one you could have planned. Taking formal cues from South Indian Jamakkalam carpets and exposed electrical wires, the weavings and painting consider ideas of gender presentation, concealment, and unruliness.
